How do I make sure a style I love is available to try on during my appointment?

When booking your Danielle Frankel appointment, you will be prompted to pre-select five "Styles of Interest" that you would most like to see. We do our best to prioritize these indicated styles and will explore additional options as time allows.

Please be advised that the $150 fee is non-refundable if notice is not provided in advance of this timeframe.

What sizes are your gowns sampled in?

Because Danielle Frankel garments are handmade, we only have one to two samples of each style. In most cases, samples can be clamped or let out to approximate your measurements during your appointment, so you can envision how your garment will look when size is adjusted for.

Please note that new collection styles may only be available in the sample size, typically a US size 0 to 2, for a short period after a collection is released, with extended sizing available after that.

We kindly ask you to provide your estimated gown size when booking your appointment so we can select the sample size closest to you. If you have any further questions, please reach out directly and we will be happy to assist you.

Do you keep a record of which styles I tried on?

Yes. Following your Danielle Frankel appointment, your specialist will provide a recap of your favorite styles within 24 hours.

You may contact your specialist via email at any time for additional information. If you cannot locate your recap email or do not recall whom you worked with, please contact atelier@daniellefrankelstudio.com.

Before Your Appointment

How should I prepare for my Danielle Frankel appointment?

We recommend browsing the Danielle Frankel collection on our website at https://www.daniellefrankelstudio.com before your visit, so you arrive with a sense of the styles you are drawn to.

When booking, use the 'Styles of Interest' and 'Personal Style Notes' fields to share your preferences with your specialist in advance.

What should I think about before my appointment?

It can help to have a loose sense of your wedding vision before you visit: the venue, season, and overall aesthetic can all inform the silhouettes and fabrics that will work best for you.

There is no need to have made any firm decisions, as your specialist will help guide you through the options on the day.

Custom Studio

What is a custom wedding dress?

A custom wedding dress is a bridal gown designed and constructed from scratch for one bride. At Danielle Frankel, the custom design process is a direct collaboration between you and our atelier, with master patternmakers and seamstresses crafting each gown to the highest standards of dressmaking in New York City's Garment District.

Unlike made-to-order or customized gowns, which both begin with an existing design from the collection, a custom gown is conceived and designed uniquely for you. Silhouette, fabric, embellishment, and construction are all created in collaboration with Danielle and the atelier.

Learn more about Danielle Frankel Custom Studio: https://www.daniellefrankelstudio.com/pages/custom-studio

How does the custom bridal process work at Danielle Frankel?

The Danielle Frankel custom bridal process begins with an initial consultation, held in person at our New York Studio at 260 West 39th Street or over video for clients outside of New York. A sketch fee of $2,500 is required prior to beginning any custom design work and is applied as a credit toward your final gown purchase.

During the first meeting, you discuss your vision, timeline, and design direction with our client relationships team. Once a clear concept is established, Danielle Frankel works directly with you to provide sketches and fabric swatches, considering all elements discussed in the initial consultation.

Measurements are taken at our New York Studio or remotely, depending on location, and a timeline is set for the first fitting. From there, the gown is patterned and constructed entirely by hand by our atelier's master patternmakers and seamstresses in the Garment District. The number of fittings varies based on the gown's design and complexity.

How long does a custom wedding dress take at Danielle Frankel?

The timeline for a Danielle Frankel custom wedding dress varies based on the complexity of the design, fabric sourcing, and the number of fittings required.

Brides should book their custom consultation as early as possible to allow time for the full design and construction process. Once a concept is established and measurements are taken, a timeline is set for the first fitting. From that point, fittings and timelines vary based on the gown's design.

For made-to-order gowns from the existing Danielle Frankel collection, the standard lead time is approximately 24 weeks from order date.

How much does a custom wedding dress cost at Danielle Frankel?

Custom wedding dress pricing at Danielle Frankel varies based on design complexity, fabric selection, and embellishment. Because each custom gown is a unique creation – designed, patterned, and constructed by hand by master patternmakers and seamstresses in our New York City atelier – pricing is discussed during the initial consultation.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of sale to begin production, with the remaining balance due in full before the gown is picked up.

Contact our Custom Studio at custom@daniellefrankelstudio.com to discuss your vision and schedule a consultation, or fill out the Custom Studio form on our website: https://www.daniellefrankelstudio.com/pages/custom-studio

What is the difference between made-to-order, customized, and custom gowns at Danielle Frankel?

Danielle Frankel offers three types of gowns: made-to-order, custom, and customized.

Made-to-order means an existing design from the Danielle Frankel collection is cut and constructed in your ready-to-wear size after you place your order. The silhouette, fabric, and design have already been created by Danielle Frankel, and the finished gown is made specifically for you, though the design itself is from the collection.

Customized means starting with a gown from the collection and incorporating slight changes or variations to make it bespoke to you: for example, a different neckline, an alternate fabric, or the addition of lace or embellishment. Customizations are quoted on a case-by-case basis and incur an additional charge on top of the gown price. Please note that not all customization requests can be accommodated; possibilities and pricing are confirmed in collaboration with your specialist.

Custom means the wedding dress is designed from scratch, exclusively for you. Working directly with the Danielle Frankel atelier, you collaborate on sketches, fabric swatches, and every design detail to create a gown shaped entirely around your vision.

Where is the Danielle Frankel Custom Studio?

The Danielle Frankel Custom Studio is based at 260 West 39th Street, Floor 14, New York, NY – in the heart of Manhattan's Garment District. This is also the location of our New York Studio and our atelier, where every custom Danielle Frankel gown is designed, patterned, and constructed.

Custom consultations take place at our New York Studio, with remote consultations available over video for brides outside New York. Danielle Frankel also operates a Los Angeles Boutique on Melrose Place for collection appointments.

How do I book a custom bridal consultation at Danielle Frankel?

To book a Danielle Frankel custom bridal consultation, fill out the inquiry form on the Custom Studio page at https://www.daniellefrankelstudio.com/pages/custom-studio, or contact our client relationships team directly at custom@daniellefrankelstudio.com.

The initial consultation can take place in person at our New York Studio in the Garment District, or over video. During the consultation, you discuss your vision, timeline, and design preferences with the team.

For made-to-order collection appointments, or to customize an existing style, book through the Danielle Frankel appointments page for either the New York Studio or the Los Angeles Boutique on Melrose Place: https://www.daniellefrankelstudio.com/pages/appointments

Can I work with Danielle Frankel on a custom gown if I don't live in New York?

Yes. To shop the collection or discuss customizations on an existing style, you can book an appointment at either the Danielle Frankel New York Studio or the Los Angeles Boutique on Melrose Place.

For full custom gowns, in-person consultations are held at our New York Studio. If you are not based in New York, we begin the process virtually: initial consultations, design discussions, sketches, and fabric swatch reviews all take place over video.

Measurements for a custom gown can be taken remotely or in person at our New York Studio or Los Angeles Boutique, depending on your location. All fittings are held at our New York Studio in Manhattan's Garment District.

Most brides travel to New York for fittings, and our team works with your schedule to consolidate visits. Danielle Frankel has worked with brides internationally, including clients across the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

I'm having a religious ceremony and need to be more modest. Will your gowns work for me?

Yes. Danielle Frankel is pleased to offer customizations on a case-by-case basis, provided they maintain the integrity of our designs. Please note that modifications for modesty often require changes to the pattern during production, which may result in additional charges and an extended production time frame.

Can I customize veils or shoes at Danielle Frankel?

Yes. Danielle Frankel offers customization of veils and shoes on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to customize a veil or pair of shoes, please note your request in the "Personal Style Notes" section when booking your appointment, or mention it to your sales specialist during your visit. Possibilities and pricing are confirmed in collaboration with your specialist.

When to Buy Your Veil

When should I buy my veil?

Ideally, consider selecting your veil at the same time as your gown so the two can be seen together. Bridal accessories such as veils can take four to five months to order and arrive, so ordering early ensures they are ready in time.

If ordering a custom or made-to-order veil, allow enough lead time to have it in hand approximately two to three months before your wedding, so any styling adjustments can be made in time.

Does Danielle Frankel sell veils?

Yes. Danielle Frankel offers a range of veils and bridal headpieces. Browse the collection here: https://www.daniellefrankelstudio.com/collections/veils

When to Buy Your Shoes

When should I buy my wedding shoes?

You are welcome to purchase your shoes at the same time as your gown, and many brides find it easiest to do so. At the latest, your shoes must be in hand before your first alterations fitting, as heel height directly affects how your gown is hemmed and cannot be changed once alterations have begun. Fittings at Danielle Frankel cannot be performed without your exact shoes, and your appointment will need to be rescheduled if you arrive without them.

As a general guide, aim to have your shoes at least three months before your wedding, as this is when most alteration fittings begin.

Does Danielle Frankel sell shoes?

Purchasing

What do I need to do before purchasing my gown?

To complete your purchase at Danielle Frankel, the following must be finalized: confirmation of size, confirmation of any applicable customizations, a signed Studio Terms of Sale, and full payment via the provided payment link or alternative arrangement.

Your dedicated specialist will share the Studio Terms of Sale, payment link, and any alternative payment instructions directly. Once all steps are complete, your order will be placed into production.

When is payment due for my gown?

For collection and made-to-order gowns, full payment is due at the time the order is placed. For custom gowns, a 50% deposit is required at the time of sale to begin production, with the remaining balance due in full before the gown is shipped or picked up.

All sales are final and non-refundable. No modifications or cancellations are permitted once an order has been placed and the Studio Terms of Sale has been signed.

Will sales tax apply to my order?

Sales tax will be applied to your order based on the shipping or pick-up location, in accordance with local tax law.

If your confirmed shipping address changes after the initial order confirmation, the applicable sales tax may be recalculated, and any outstanding balance must be paid before the order is released for shipment or pick-up.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit card and wire transfer. There is no processing fee for credit card payments. For wire transfer details, please reach out to your dedicated specialist or email atelier@daniellefrankelstudio.com.

Do you accept payment plans or deposits?

Due to the handmade and bespoke nature of our work, payment for collection and made-to-order gowns must be made upfront and in full. We do not offer payment or credit plans.

For full custom gowns, not customized, a 50% deposit is required at the time of sale to begin production, with the remaining balance due in full before the gown is shipped or picked up.

The Sample vs. Your Final Gown

Will my Danielle Frankel gown look exactly like the sample I tried on?

Each gown produced by Danielle Frankel is a handmade, one-of-a-kind garment. Due to the nature of the handwork, including variations in dye lots, fabrics, lace, and appliques, the final gown may show slight differences from the original sample.

These variations are an inherent and expected part of handmade couture.

What size will my gown be made in?

Danielle Frankel gowns are made to order based on our standard production size chart. Your measurements will be used to determine the recommended US size that is ordered.

A made-to-measure service is available at an additional cost for clients requiring more customized proportions.

Please note that almost all garments will require some form of alterations to achieve a perfect fit, even made-to-measure.

The client is responsible for the final size selection agreed upon at the time of order. There are no size exchanges and all sales are final.

Returns and Cancellations

Can I return or cancel my Danielle Frankel order?

Due to the handmade and bespoke nature of our work, Danielle Frankel cannot offer returns or exchanges on our gowns. To ensure a smooth experience, please ensure that all modifications have been requested before your order has been officially placed and the Studio Terms of Sale has been signed.

Our Timeline

What is the Danielle Frankel lead time?

General production timelines are provided for each style on our website. Please note that these windows are estimates and may vary depending on multiple factors.

Standard orders typically take an average of 5–7 months to produce, allowing 2–3 months for alterations post-production.

Can Danielle Frankel accommodate rush orders?

In certain circumstances, Danielle Frankel can accommodate rush orders. We recommend speaking with our New York Studio or Los Angeles Boutique directly if you are working on a tight timeframe. If your wedding is less than 8 months away, rush fees may apply to your order.

When will my order be ready?

Excluding rush orders, Danielle Frankel aims to have orders ready at least 12 weeks prior to your event date. Once your order is complete and has passed our three stages of quality control, you will receive an email notification from our fulfillment team.

At that point, you can approve us to ship your order, arrange a pickup time at any of our studios, or set up alteration appointments if you have purchased alterations with us.

Please inform your sales specialist immediately if you anticipate needing your gown sooner than three months before the wedding date. Please note that not all rush orders can be accommodated.

Can I order a swatch of my gown fabric?

Once you have identified your gown style on our website, please click "Request a fabric swatch for this style." Alternatively, if you have already placed an order, you may contact your specialist directly via email for assistance in obtaining a swatch. For all orders placed with third-party stockists, please contact your stockist directly.

In-House Alterations

Will my Danielle Frankel gown need alterations?

In order to ensure a perfect fit, most gowns need some form of alterations. Danielle Frankel offers in-house alterations for garments purchased through either the New York Studio or the Los Angeles Boutique on Melrose Place.

Do you offer alterations at Danielle Frankel?

Yes. Danielle Frankel offers in-house alterations for gowns purchased directly through our New York Studio or Los Angeles Boutique on Melrose Place.

In-house alterations are a flat fee of $1,950, which covers two fittings and a final try-on. This fee must be paid in full before the first scheduled fitting. Additional fittings, if required, are charged at $600 per fitting.

Do you offer made-to-measure?

Yes. Danielle Frankel offers a made-to-measure service for $1,800 for brides requiring more customized proportions.

Please be advised that almost all garments will require some form of alterations to perfect the fit, including made-to-measure gowns. We offer a combined made-to-measure and alterations package for $2,950.

When should I start alterations?

Danielle Frankel recommends starting alterations no less than 12 weeks prior to the event date. If you purchased in-house alterations, you will receive an email to start scheduling your alterations appointments when your gown is ready.

For any additional assistance, please reach out to atelier@daniellefrankelstudio.com for New York or melroseplace@daniellefrankelstudio.com for Los Angeles.

What do I need to bring to my alteration appointment?

Please bring your wedding shoes to your first fitting so we can correctly set the length and bustle of your gown. If you arrive without them, your appointment will need to be rescheduled. Once alterations have begun, your shoes cannot be changed as heel height directly affects how the gown is hemmed.

Additionally, please bring any undergarments you plan to wear on your wedding day to ensure the fit is as accurate as possible.

You may also wish to bring any accessories or jewelry you intend to wear with your gown to see them together during the fitting.

I bought a Danielle Frankel gown from a different retailer. Can you do alterations?

Danielle Frankel cannot perform alterations on any garments purchased outside our New York Studio or Los Angeles Boutique. To work with our in-house alterations team, garments must be purchased directly from Danielle Frankel.

What if I didn't purchase alterations when I bought my gown, but now I'd like to do in-house alterations at Danielle Frankel?

If you would like to add in-house alterations after your original purchase, please reach out to your sales specialist directly or email atelier@daniellefrankelstudio.com (for New York) or melroseplace@daniellefrankelstudio.com (for Los Angeles). Our team will confirm availability and assist with scheduling. Please note that full payment for alterations must be completed before the alterations process can begin.

Please note that signatures are required for all gown deliveries, and tracking information will be provided by our shipping team.

Any changes to the order shipping address following the initial order confirmation may result in changes to the applicable sales tax. Due to legal requirements, any remaining sales tax balance will require payment prior to release of the order for shipment or pick-up.

Understanding The Studio Terms of Sale

What am I signing when I place my order?

When placing an order with Danielle Frankel, you will sign the Studio Terms of Sale, a legal agreement between you and Danielle Frankel. By signing, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions, and that you are 18 years of age or older.

Signing this contract is an obligatory step required to finalize your purchase.

What does 'all sales are final' mean in practice?

Once your order has been placed and the Agreement signed, no refunds, credits, modifications, or cancellations are possible under any circumstances, including if your event is cancelled or postponed.

What are my responsibilities as a client?

You are responsible for the final size selection agreed upon at the time of order. You are also required to inspect the merchandise before taking possession of it, at which point Danielle Frankel has no further obligations regarding the garment. The total liability of Danielle Frankel in connection with your order is limited to the amounts you have paid.

What happens if I do not fulfil the terms of the Agreement?

Cancellation by non-payment, non-acceptance of the gown, or other non-performance still obligates the client to all payments required under the Agreement. Danielle Frankel may seek 10% compounded monthly interest on any outstanding amounts, as well as reasonable attorney's fees.
